The project added one northbound lane and one southbound lane between Scott Road in Menifee and Nuevo Road in Perris. Widening this section of roadway relieved a bottleneck by creating three lanes in each direction on I-215 from I-15 to SR-60 in Riverside County. The project also included the replacement of two bridges and the widening of four bridges along the corridor. Construction of this $102 million investment concluded in 2015 and was designed reduce traffic congestion and delays, improve access to downtown Perris and enhance air quality.
AA provided public outreach support through issuing Construction Alerts, hosting a project initiation briefing to emergency responders, coordinating a community open house, facilitating pre- construction surveys of properties to reduce claims, coordinating briefings to the Perris and Menifee City Councils and Chambers of Commerce, hosting neighborhood “Information Stations,” monitoring helpline/website inquiries, and organizing special events.
