Metro Urban greening plan
The Urban Greening Plan supports the creation of Safe, Healthy, and Livable communities within the Los Angeles region through the enhancement of public spaces. The provision of high-quality and well-programmed streets, pathways, open spaces, and green spaces directly supports ridership by encouraging people to walk, bike and take other forms of alternative transportation and to choose transit over driving. Metro developed a live website which serves as a toolkit for the plan, allowing the information to be readily available to community groups, activists, and local cities. Check out the toolkit at Metro Green Places website.
AA developed a comprehensive stakeholder and public outreach plan, which included designing and preparing collateral material, convening the Technical Advisory Committee and conducting a countywide forum on the toolkit, which presented best practices and policies to foster greening and place-making strategies in and around rail and bus rapid transit (BRT) stations.
