Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2
The project has identified two alternatives; one proposed route would travel along SR-60 to Peck Road in the City of South El Monte; the other proposed route would travel along Washington Blvd to Lambert Road in the City of Whittier. Currently, the consultant team and Metro Staff have undertaken a series of technical studies that will further refine the proposed alternatives and explore new options. As part of this effort, Metro is collaborating with the SR-60 and Washington Blvd Coalitions, as well as project stakeholders at all levels, to inform them of the ongoing refinement process and garner valuable input.
AA was responsible for community outreach services during the Alternatives Analysis phase and is currently leading outreach efforts during the environmental and engineering phases of this major transportation project. Through AA's outreach efforts, an original set of 47 alternatives were narrowed down to the two current light rail transit build alternatives, SR-60 North Side Design Variation and Washington Blvd. AA has collaborated with Civic Resource Group to bring the project area maps to life by developing the Geo-Social Interactive Map. This Google-based, dynamic mapping and social media system is designed to allow the user to view the project area and zoom into specific areas of interest like the project alternatives, cities/towns, and proposed stations. More importantly, the comment feature allows the user to leave a geo-specific comment and post a photo of their local community.
